Couldn't Be Written Out Any Better

The Celtics 09-10 regular season was a see saw. The first couple of months, they dominated the league with winning streaks--then the rest of the regular season was not a playoff basketball team. What went wrong?

Starters weren't finishing out games. Getting an early lead and then making themselves comfortable. They were 'bored' with the regular season. But you can't blame them. When there's no competition in your own division and you've got a load of veterans on your team--there's really nothing to worry about. And they've proved it. It's a good sign of confidence, but confidence can only carry you so far.

Like every single clinching game of this years playoffs, the Celtics have lost. But in return, they followed up with a win. I feel as if they get too comfortable knowing they're up in a series, but when their season is on the line they go ALL out.  And boy, do we need that tomorrow.

Unfortunately Perkins will be out for Game 7, and if this injury were to happen mid season, he'd be out for the rest of the season. So it's serious. But okay. We can do this. Out of the starting 5, Kendrick Perkins is the ONLY player that we can afford to lose. Rasheed and Big Baby are going to have to take the spotlight, and not only score, but play D and grab rebounds.

I've realized a couple of things in this series. Whatever team wins the first quarter, typically goes on to win the game. Whichever bench scores the most, typically goes on to win the game. Attacking the board is also key. Keep it close at least.

Whose going to step it up for the biggest game of their lives? Here's my prediction for Game 7:

Best game of the series. There hasn't been ONE close game. This will come down to the last couple of minutes, or better yet the last minute. Everything will be equally distributed. Ray will hit his threes, Kobe will be more of a teammate than a ball hog, Big Baby will cure his dry spell his past two games and score at least 10, and Sheed with 8. Derek Fisher absent, Ron Artest will show up, Celtics will outscore LA's bench, Pierce will lead in scoring, and Rondo will distribute the ball and score a lot in the paint. Lamar will be too busy showboating for his hollywood mistress in the stands, and the ball will be in Kobe's hands for the last two minutes.

This is where Tony Allen will come in BIG. He's an upgrade from Ray on defense with Kobe, and he'll score 5 off the bench along with frustrating Kobe. It'll come down to the wire.

All I know is, you guys watching better be prepared. There's a roller coaster of butterfly sightings in the near future.

Can Shrek and Donkey stop filming their next movie? We need another night like them again. Someone's gotta go off.

In the end, the Celtics have been doubted all year. "No way are they gonna make it past Lebron in Cleveland" "No way are they gonna make it past Dwight Howard and the defending East Champion Orlando Magic" "No way are they gonna make it past the defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant. No way." It's like playing a video game, and having to defeat all of these ridiculously hard levels to win the game. It would only make sense for the Staples Center to be silenced as the NBA Finals trophy is thrusted in the air by nothing but Celtics.

For the team I've been rooting for since October..Go Celtics. Light one up to Red. Banner 18. It's ours. Let's show em.

P.S. Due to this being the Final game in the NBA schedule, I'm pretty excited to jump on the Red Sox backs and start writing about them. But as for now, Go C's!!!!!!!!
