And The Next Witnesses Are..?

So yes! The Celtics eliminated the number one seed Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. Huge win for this team, but by the way the Cavs were playing, they had no shot. Now the talk of the ages is about to come up:

What jersey will Lebron wear next season?

I'm going to put up a poll to see where you guys think he'll end up next year, but I'll spread it out for you guys to see where his possible destinations could be. Ranking them from what I feel will be the most likely location:

5.) New York Knicks: Even though the Garden was chanting "New York Knicks" at the free throw line for Lebron, I honestly see no reasoning to him playing here. The only way Lebron would play for this team would be to want to play on a bigger stage. It's in a huge city, and he'd be the center of rebuilding. You need to look at the Knicks roster right now. Other than David Lee, there's no one else on that team. It would be like playing for the Cavs except having Jay Z as your boss. Lebron wants to win a ring, not be part of a rebuilding process. So I feel, the New York Knicks are the least likely suitors for Lebron.

4.) Miami Heat: Not Dwayne Wade's house. D Wade will most likely be resigning with Miami. I can also see Miami signing a guy like Chris Bosh or Carlos Boozer to play the paint. Sorry Pat Riley, but Dwayne Wade's already gotten you a ring. Stay with him. Lebron James = Ringless.

3.) Cleveland Cavaliers: It's really 50/50 here. Lebron loves Cleveland, it's his hometown. He loves his teammates. These guys were a dominant team this season getting the first seed. Seeing the Cavs laying down at the end of the game tonight, and Mike Brown not telling his team to foul the Celtics when down by 9 in the 4th Quarter definitely showed no heart. Lebron did all he could, scoring a triple double, and having one bad game. He's the one everyone points their finger to in that city if they struggle. Cleveland needs to realize Lebron is all they have. His supporting cast consisted of one other starter that would produce. Anthony Parker in Game 5. Mo Williams in Game 6. If I were Lebron, I'd want to get out of the chaos, and get on a team where there's a dominant supporting cast. That would suck for Cleveland because who would they have to cheer for? The Cleveland Browns? The Cleveland Indians? Lebronless Cavaliers? Oh my.

2.) Chicago Bulls: The only reason why this isn't the number one destination for Lebron is that the tension between Lebron and Bulls Center, Joakhim Noah. They've got into many verbal altercations this season, and who can forget Joakhim's rant on "how boring Cleveland is". But you fix that chemistry, and you have a championship bound team. Lebron James, Derrick Rose (one of the best point guards in the league) , and Joakhim Noah. That would be such a dominant force on the court, it'd be scary. Plus, Bulls will be looking for a new coach after firing Vinny Del Negro after this season. Byron Scott? John Calipari?! The new possible head coach for Chicago could sway Lebron's decision. Remember, Lebron will want a ring. And this would definitely be the location to do it next year. Playing in Michael Jordan's shadow..it will bring Bulls fans back to form.

1.) New Jersey Nets: Now I know, "the Nets had the worst record in the NBA last year!" How could I possibly think the Nets is Lebron's destination next year? Look. What more do the Nets need more than a leader to mesh those young guys together. The Nets have such young talent with: Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, Courtney Lee, that chinese guy Yi, and then if they get the first pick in the draft, John Wall. John Wall is THE best player in this years draft. He'll be one of the best point guards in the NBA, and who else would you want to kick off your career by being teammates with Lebron James. If John Wall (Kentucky) is drafted by the Nets, that could definitely sway Lebron's choice to New Jersey. So going to New Jersey would be a lot like going to Chicago, except he'd be with his boy Jay Z. Win Win situation. Who knows, the Nets could use some of their prospects as trade bait to get some better veteran players. Or maybe Chris Bosh could be signed this offseason! Either way, I expect an improved New Jersey Net team. The Celtics in 2007 had the second to worst record in the NBA. The year after, they won the championship. The only way this doesn't happen to the Nets is by not getting the first draft pick. Oh, and don't forget that Russian millionaire whose now the Nets owner. He won't be afraid to show Lebron the dough!

So lemme know with the poll I put up. Where do you guys think Lebron will be next year?

I know one thing. It's gonna be one crazy offseason. You'll be saying Lebron's name in your sleep because you'll be hearing it TOO much this summer.

Have a good week! Go Celtics!
